I  am a granola — guilty as charged. I have also been guilty of harming the environment — little did I know at the time. Granolas are supposed to be protectors of the environment. According the the Urban Dictionary, a granola is a person who is environmentally aware and is concerned about wasting resources.  I don’t remember when I started thinking this way, but it was probably sometime in high school. I remember going to my local park and working with a friend to pick up all the litter I saw there. I felt better after having removed all the ugliness put there by uncaring people.  I felt it was my duty as a citizen of the world to make it a better place.
