One day when I was hooping and studying about energy a lightbulb went off. It finally occurred to me how helpful hula hooping is to my energy body. The body wants energy to cross over from one side of your body to the other. Unfortunately, many people have energy that only runs homolaterally (going in the same direction) with none of their energy crossing over. By simply spinning the hoop around your waist, you are spinning the energy too – it is helping your energy to crossover your body, which is a great benefit to your energy body and, therefore, your physical body. If you haven’t mastered waist hooping, fear not. There are hoop exercises you can do – figure 8s for example – that don’t require on body hooping skills. Even just simply standing with your hoop in front of you and moving it back and forth (an isolation move) while switching your hands crosses energy over the body. This makes it so easy for people who are not able to do on body hooping due to injury or disability. This can even be done sitting down with a small, cheap hoop from the dollar store.
So….You don’t have to put the hoop around your waist to make it a useful tool to cross energy over your body. Here is video with a couple simple exercises for you to try.
