What? Did she actually say that?
I know, I probably made some people angry already, but here are the reasons why I can’t support breast cancer awareness month:
First, I am well aware of breast cancer and I really don’t need to be reminded of it. Can we at least agree on that? There are way too many women getting breast cancer, but I believe a lot more could have been prevented if they had the right information which I will share below.
Second, I am all about PREVENTION. Yes, let’s focus our efforts on NEVER GETTING BREAST CANCER IN THE FIRST PLACE. Is that unreasonable? I commend the survivors of breast cancer — I know they went through a lot to get through to be a survivor, but wouldn’t it have been easier to never get it? Don’t make yourself the victim here. You have more control than you think.
Finally, I cannot and will not support organizations (Susan G. Komen and the American Cancer Society) that claim to want to cure cancer. I simply don’t believe them. If we found the cure for cancer then these organizations would no longer exist. Why would an organization want something to happen that puts them out of business? I’m sure there is some good work that they do, but for the most part, I believe very little money goes toward helping the women affected. Much of their money goes toward administrative costs and salaries for the people who work in these organizations. The CEO of Susan G. Komen makes a salary in the six figures (not quoting an actual amount here as there are many different salaries listed depending on the website you visit). Plus only about 21% (Click HERE for an article) goes towards research and nothing toward prevention.
Now, what can we do to PREVENT breast cancer? DIET DIET DIET LIFESTYLE LIFESTYLE LIFESTYLE
I believe that what people eat is causing at least a good part of the problem. If you haven’t read The China Study yet, I strongly recommend the book. It is the most comprehensive nutrition study ever done. One finding showed that a cancer gene in rats could be turned on and off based on the amount of casein they were fed in their diet. Casein is a protein found in cow’s milk. So, basically, when you consume dairy products regularly in your diet you turn on the cancer gene. When you stop eating dairy you turn off the cancer gene. It’s that simple. STOP EATING DAIRY! Dairy is so bad for your health. Not only does it turn on the cancer gene, it can cause inflammation, constipation, allergies, multiple sclerosis, and of course breast cancer. It is so sad when I think of the pink ribbons on yogurt — they are promoting a product that has been linked to cancer! I’m sorry. I don’t understand that. I guess the dairy council provides big bucks to these groups that promote finding a cure for cancer. And these monies go in the pockets of the elite within these organizations for the betterment of them not cancer survivors.
I wrote a blog about the problems with wearing bras. Click HERE if you missed it. Bras hinder the breasts from letting lymph nodes drain properly which can lead to issues down the road. I know that going bra-less isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but have you truly given it a try? Free yourself from the shackles of the bra and let your breasts bounce as they were meant to do. If not all the time, for an hour a day at the very least, outside of sleeping. Also, bouncing on a rebounder is a great exercise and helps remove toxins from the body. If you don’t have a rebounder, check out my blog HERE about doing a simple exercise that I do everyday.
Don’t cave to the pressure of getting a mammogram. Did you know that many mammograms lead to false diagnoses which causes women to have unnecessary treatment for breast cancer? If they had not done anything, the body would have taken care of the issue itself. A study was done which showed that of 2000 women who got a mammography, only 1 would experience a longer life. However, 10 would undergo unnecessary procedures for a cancer that never would have developed. When you weigh the benefits and risks of a mammography, the benefits do not outweigh the risks. You are also exposing your body to unnecessary radiation. Just say NO to mammograms. Do not cave into the pressure from the doctors. Or, better yet, ask your doctor to provide scientific evidence that shows the benefits of getting a mammography and how they outweigh the risks. I bet they won’t be able to do that.
How to prevent breast cancer in a nutshell:
Stop eating dairy — Period!
Adopt a plant based diet
Address and release past trauma, stress, etc. through energy work like Reiki or Tai Chi
Bounce bra less whenever you can
Make good, sound decisions in regards to getting a mammogram — the evidence does not show they prevent breast cancer
