5 day Energy Burst Challenge!
Day 5: 4-7-8 Breathing
Our last day together is all about the breath. While we obviously breathe every day, we often take shallow breaths, so our bodies do not get as oxygenated as it could with a deeper breath. Simply breathing deeply when we are stressed can really help calm us down and get us out of any funk we might be in at the time.
This is a life balance breathing technique. It follows a 4-7-8 pattern.
4 seconds: breathe in through the nose quietly
7 seconds: hold the breath
8 seconds: breathe out through the mouth and make noise
Do this for 4 cycles up to twice a day.
Because you breathe in for only 4 seconds but out for 8, it really helps you expel any negative energy deep within you. You really have to find the breath to expel for 8 seconds. If you feel light headed after doing one or two rounds, then stop. You might have to work up to doing four rounds in one sitting. Also, some people may not be comfortable holding their breath for 7 seconds. That’s okay. Hold for as long as you can. You may have to work up to holding your breath for 7 seconds. I am so glad you joined me on my 5 Day Energy Burst Challenge! Even though the challenge is over, I do hope you continue these exercises regularly. You can’t do them for 5 days and expect miracles. Keep practicing and perfecting. I hope that you get so much benefit from any or all of them that they become part of your daily or weekly routine.
