Welcome to Day 3
of My Energy Shift’s
5 day Energy Burst Challenge!
Mudras
Today’s technique is focused on mudras. Mudras come from the Sanskrit language and its translation means “to seal.” Forming mudras are thought to bring inner peace. They are hand gestures that affect our energy and our thoughts. A simple way to think about it is that mudras are yoga for the hands. There are a variety of mudras you can do, but I will focus on two based on the goals of this 5 day challenge. If you enjoy them, I encourage you to seek out other mudras for a variety of situations. It is important to do the breathing with the mudra — the two go hand in hand when it comes to achieving the optimal effect.
Mudra 1: Eliminating Fatigue
This mudra will help when you are experiencing fatigue or exhaustion. It brings healing energies to you, boosts energy, and enhances intuition.
- Sit straight and tall.
- Hold elbows out to the side and hold near solar plexus.
- Make fists with hands except index finger, which is held out straight.
- Hold right palm down and left palm up.
- Put right index finger on top of the left index finger. Cross fingers in the middle of the second segment of each finger.
- Inhale long, deep, slow breaths through nose. Exhale through the mouth slowly, with force, directing breath at tips of your index fingers.
Mudra 2: Recharge
This mudra can help you cope with situations that make you feel overwhelmed.
- Sit straight and tall
- Rest arms at your sides or they can be placed on your knees if your are sitting cross-legged
- Make circles with tips of thumbs and index fingers
- Point palms upward
- Breathe deeply for 3 minutes
