Day 2: Energy Rubs
All of the points on your body in these exercises are acupressure points which stimulate your meridians and help move energy in your body. You really want energy to flow in your body, just like we want blood to flow in our veins. When blood stops flowing, we know we have a major health crisis on our hands. When energy stops flowing through our meridians, it leads to problems, but in a more subtle way. Stuck energy eventually leads to problems with the physical body, so we need to do whatever we can to keep the energy flowing smoothly. The Energy Rubs will:
- Tap on acupressure points
- Help you wake up
- Help with concentration
- Support the immune system
- Help with metabolism
- Reduces anxiety and stress
Below are three Energy Rub points on your body. There are many more, but I have focused on these three for the challenge. You can add pressure (gently), rub (10-30 seconds), or thump them 5-10 times. The way you address each point is a personal preference. Try all of them (pressure, rub, thump) and see which one you like best.
Energy Rub 1
- Use your 4 fingers for this rub
- Thump, rub, or add pressure on the tops of your cheekbones.
- Breathe deeply while you do this.
Energy Rub 2
- Place fingers on your collarbone.
- Move your hands toward each other until you reach the end of your collarbone.
- Drop both hands down 1 inch. Feel for the soft spot or indentation.
- Tap or massage there for 2-3 deep breaths.
- Breathe deeply while you do this.
Energy Rub 3
- Tap the area under your arm pits around your bra strap and below the nipple about 1 in from the bra line.
- Tap or massage for 2-3 deep breaths.
Energy Rub 4
- Locate the area in the middle of your palm.
- Tap or massage for 2-3 deep breaths.
