I have a bumper sticker on my fridge that says “A closed mind is a wonderful thing to lose.” It inspired me today. I find it frustrating when people who feel miserable, are in pain, and are pumping themselves full of prescription drugs (which only mask the symptoms and does not get to the root cause of the problem) are unwilling to try diet to help themselves. This is a simple, low-cost alternative. But so many times I have heard “No, I can’t give up……(you name the animal based food)” I mean, can’t you even try for a couple weeks just to see if you would feel better? No — the closed mind can really hinder people’s willingness to help themselves. I just don’t understand. I guess they prefer feeling miserable — perhaps from the sympathy they get from others. Can someone explain this to me? Wouldn’t being open to trying a new diet be a easy thing to try — and it just might work and help them feel better.
As for gratitude….just do it. When you express gratitude each day it can really change your attitude. EVERYONE can find something to be grateful for. State it aloud, shout it out, write it down — just do it. It can change the way you feel about your life and can turn your attitude for the better.
